In my entry entitled “Light Bulb.” An Alice-esq young girl is depicted opening a book and delving into the world of her imagination. In this new world, the white rabbit and a group of suit adorned animals enchant and entertain the young girl with a world full of dance, music, and creativity.
The film was shot over a span of one month with time split between sound stages, local parks, and post facilities. Although a lot of energy went into the project, I would hardly call it work as everyone involved had a fun time throughout the process.
The central thesis I wanted to capture in my film is simple but true. The idea that books and imagination are all one needs to open up a world full of magic and whimsy. An idea that I think Lewis Carroll would agree with whole-heartedly.

Magana’s music video performance considers Lewis Carroll’s fantastic imagery through the music it inspired in one of the most celebrated bands in contemporary popular culture—the Beatles. Starting with the John Lennon song “I Am the Walrus” (influenced by Carroll’s episode of the Walrus and the Carpenter), Magana’s video revels in the playfully experimental style of the movie A Hard Day’s Night and the Beatles’s last album, Abbey Road . The hybridized looking glass that results is a lighthearted and mesmerizing piece that connects two artistic English treasures.
